I’m linking up with Patty from My No-Guilt Life, Erika from MCM Mama Runs, and April from Run the Great Wide Somewhere for Tuesdays on the Run. This week’s topic is Goals for 2015–but since I already posted on that topic for Friday Five last week, I’m going a different route (pun intended). I’d like to talk about my mantra for the year:
I have some really lofty goals for this year (ahem, a marathon), and I’ve been trying to figure out what can motivate me to get the job done. I’ve always loved collecting quotations from famous people and love to read about others’ mantras, so when I saw this phrase on a bracelet, it stuck with me, and I decided this year I would “own the day” every day. To me, this means that I’ll make every day a positive one, that I’ll work and run hard, meet my goals, and won’t give up. I believe that as I own the day, I’ll feel satisfied with what I’m doing and live positively.
So, how about you? What’s your mantra? How will you own the day this year?
That is a great mantra! Hope you get to fulfill your goal this yr in completing your marathon!
Thank you so much! I hope I do too! 🙂
I like it! I will DIG DEEP.
That’s a great mantra! That’s actually printed on my Brooks Launch shoelaces, and I feel more motivated every time I wear the shoes. I’ll dig deep this year too! 🙂
Oh that is a great mantra! I love it! I haven’t really thought of one for me that would cover the whole year, but I think I’ll come up with one now! Thanks for linking up with us today.
I’m excited to be linked up too! Such a great way to bring the community closer together. 🙂 There are a lot of inspiring phrases out there. I hope you find the one that’s best for your mantra. Thank you for stopping by!
That is a great mantra!! And you can totally do the marathon! Such an amazing experience in many ways. My mantra is “Don’t run away from obstacles, run OVER them”! I guess that ‘s more like a motto, I need something shorter for a mantra, but you get the point 🙂
Thanks for your support on the marathon and I love your mantra. I’ll definitely keep it my motivational thoughts bank. 🙂
Great mantra. Mine is usually either “suck it up, buttercup” or “run the mile you are in”.
Thanks for linking up with us!
Those are both great. I often tell myself to suck it up too! Anything to get the workout done, right? 😉
