You have no idea how crazy my life is right now! Okay, you probably do and can relate. I’m helping with flowers and decor for two weddings, working on my cookbook marketing, and generally trying not to freak out. It’s a good time. 🙂
I went to my first PiYo class last week, and it was really fun! It helps that the instructor at my gym is an awesome guy. He’s super friendly and approachable, and he even lost 80 pounds through group fitness classes! Basically he made the class fun and never did I feel dumb doing the sequences. (Side note: It takes me forever to get the choreography in any fitness class, but he was super easy to follow.) A great, passionate teacher makes a HUGE difference! The class was very lyrical–and for a non-dancer like me, I even enjoyed it. Maybe because I never really knew what to expect. Sometimes that’s a good thing when trying out new classes, having no preconceived notions. PiYo is a low-impact workout that combines Pilates, yoga, and cardio to sculpt and tone your body. It’s really easy on the joints, and you’re always moving! I was amazed at how sweaty I got during class! Good stuff!
As I said in a previous post, it’s good to try out a class three times to see if you want to continue. I’ve only gone to one class, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even if I don’t make it a main part of my routine, I will probably go once a week or so. I just don’t have enough time in the week to squeeze in everything I want to do!
Have you ever done PiYo?
Have you tried anything new lately?
I love this, but I’m biased because I’m a PiYo Strength instructor! 🙂

Nothing wrong with being biased! 🙂
I’ve actually done the PiYo program from BeachBody and felt so clumsy with the choreography that I gave up. I’ve kind of played with the idea of a class thinking it would be easier but haven’t yet.
I don’t really do well with at-home programs, so I’m glad I went to a live class to give it a chance. I’d give it a shot. 🙂
I’ve always wanted to try PiYo! I just started Pilates a few weeks ago and I’m loving it a lot. It was so hard to get into it because my core is so weak and my running muscles (hips and glutes) were trying to take over, but now that i know what to do I’m really into it! You’re definitely right about giving it a few classes because otherwise I would have totally given up on day 1. Have fun with your new classes!

I totally know what you mean! I’m doing BodyPump and it’s hard to engage other muscles, but I’m definitely seeing improvement. I hope you try PiYo! It’s really fun! 🙂
Yes I’m on week 6 of 8 of Piyo. I feel clumsy on some parts, but I’ve noticed a difference.
Way to go! I’m definitely not a graceful person, but I really loved the class. Good luck continuing the program! Way to be consistent. 🙂
